Noah’s Ark

Noah’s Ark is a pre-school playgroup for children and their parents.

The project is run by Restore Community staff together with a large group of committed volunteers from both Restore Community church and the local community and is open to the whole community who have children under school age, so includes:

  • Families in social housing
  • those without own means of transportation
  • those in temporary accommodation
  • ethnic minorities
  • children on the ‘at risk’ register
  • and those vulnerable to loneliness and isolation.

The purpose of the project is to provide:

  • a safe, relaxing and stimulating environment for children to play, learn and develop
  • a non-threatening atmosphere for parents and carers to relate to their children and each other
  • support and suitable signposting to parents and careers where appropriate
  • praise and encouragement to the children in their development and to offer a range of activities for them to achieve this
  • positive role models
  • the parents and carers the opportunities to become active in their community by volunteering at sessions

We now have two locations in Loughton, Oakwood Hill on Monday morning 10:00 till 11:30 and Trinity Church, Mannock Drive, IG10 2JD on Tuesday and Thursday morning 10:00 till 11:30
