Noah’s Ark is a pre-school playgroup for children and their parents.
The project is run by Restore Community staff together with a large group of committed volunteers from both Restore Community church and the local community and is open to the whole community who have children under school age, so includes:
- Families in social housing
- those without own means of transportation
- those in temporary accommodation
- ethnic minorities
- children on the ‘at risk’ register
- and those vulnerable to loneliness and isolation.
The purpose of the project is to provide:
- a safe, relaxing and stimulating environment for children to play, learn and develop
- a non-threatening atmosphere for parents and carers to relate to their children and each other
- support and suitable signposting to parents and careers where appropriate
- praise and encouragement to the children in their development and to offer a range of activities for them to achieve this
- positive role models
- the parents and carers the opportunities to become active in their community by volunteering at sessions
Noah’s Ark runs at Oakwood Hill on Monday morning 10:00 till 11:30 and on Tuesday morning we have a SEND session from 10:00 till 11:30. Please contact Kim Lupton for more information or help in booking on kim.lupton@restorecc.org.uk
